Suncoast Community Capital (SCC),  committed to the financial independence of people and communities of low income in Manatee and Sarasota Counties, is pleased to announce the hiring of Tim Dutton as the organization’s new Executive Director. Dutton is filling the vacancy created when Mike Kennedy left to assume a position with Harvest United Methodist Church in Lakewood Ranch.

“I am energized by the potential expressed by the mission of Suncoast Community Capital,” Dutton said. “Financial stability https://www.acheterviagrafr24.com/achat-viagra-en-ligne-quebec/ is one of the keys to child and family thriving, is central to community well-being, and is directly related to issues of social justice. SCC is positioned to be an innovator, a convener and a vocal advocate for change.”

“Tim’s experience in the non-profit sector, coupled with his passion for SCC’s mission, really stood out to us during our search for a new executive director,” said Casey Colburn, acting chair of SCC’s board of directors. “We are pleased to have Tim leading our organization, and we are confident that he will expand SCC’s reach into our community.”

Dutton, a resident of this area for nearly 20 years, has a history of working in the nonprofit sector in healthcare administration and community change organizations, with an emphasis on social justice. For 12 years he served as the Executive Director of SCOPE, a civic engagement organization in Sarasota County. During his tenure, SCOPE brought the community together to tackle issues such as school dropout, affordable housing, race and cultural relations, aging and many more.  He developed a reputation as a convener and facilitator and was responsible for the creation of multiple reports and data products aimed at improved community well-being.

Dutton left SCOPE in 2012 to be the co-founder and Co-Executive Director of Sarasota Community Studio, a neighborhood-based community change organization in the Central-Cocoanut neighborhood of Sarasota where he lives. This next generation place-based effort is initiated and led by neighbors, focusing on neighborhood-wide thriving by following the lead of kids in this 47-block area.

Prior to coming to Florida, Dutton ran hospitals in Ohio and rural Haiti. He is a W.K. Kellogg leadership fellow and was an election observer for the Organization of American States.
